Visit Idyllwild
I love meeting people! Idyllwild is an idyllic venue of adventure, music, art, and harmony. Set in the pristine San Jacinto Mountains, Idyllwild is within a two-hour drive from anywhere in southern California. Though so close, it is a world set apart. Its clean, crisp air, ponderosa pines, inns from the simple to luxurious, cabin rentals, world-class dining, shopping, musical events daily, hiking, rock climbing, and art in all forms abounding, make it a pleasure year-round for adults and children alike. Temperatures in the summer top in the 90s and in the 20s in the winter, with snow possible. And, Idyllwild is pet-friendly! Many inns permit pets, and most restaurants have outdoor decks where dogs are invited. You are always welcome in Idyllwild! When you come, please be sure we meet! I am in town daily, but always welcome visitors and locals to call and arrange meet-ups.
In my effort to share the splendor of Idyllwild, I have worked with my staff to outreach to southern California businesses, inviting them to have events in Idyllwild and join events we have here. Below are some example letters.

We are a delightful mountain community (altitude 5,300 feet) just 1-2 hours from any southern California location, and we offer breathtaking surroundings in a fun, friendly, and peaceful environment for meetings, conferences, and vacations—or any type of getaway, long or short, at any time of the year.
On July 1, 2012, I was inaugurated into office for a one-year term as the first Mayor of Idyllwild. In a three-day election on June 11, 12, and 13, 2012, the townspeople voted at the U.S. Post Office in Idyllwild, casting their $1 votes for 16 candidates (14 dogs and 2 cats) in a fund-raiser that generated over $31,000 for our local animal shelter and rescue, Idyllwild Animal Rescue Friends (ARF).
We are a very child- and pet-friendly town, and as my Chief of Staff, Phyllis Mueller, will tell you on my behalf (as I bark and she conveys the message), there are several perks that visitors receive as part of our mayoral program.

I would like to invite you and your company, friends, and associates to visit Idyllwild, California for our annual Idyllwild Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Saturday, November 24, 2012 (or at any convenient time for you). On this day, we light our 100-foot-tall Christmas tree which remains lit through January 7th, and we have a delightful Ceremony that starts at 4:15pm with music, caroling, and much more. Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus set up their workshops from 12-2pm and 3:30pm to the end of the day, and children are delighted to meet them. Christmas carolers sing throughout the town all day, and holiday decorations and foods are everywhere. Holiday shopping is also ideal. We would love to see you here.
